Are the Government giving up on printing official information?

The Government issued a statement saying that data will be released on Government websites and will no longer be published in hard copy due to costs. 

A prime example of this is ONS material. Titles that have been available in hard copy for many years are simply being posted to a website in hundreds of different Excel sheets. These titles include:
